UL Solutions is a global expert in certification, testing, inspections and auditing that has partnered with Hilti globally to validate the rating of our fire protection systems. In Australia, the UL-AU Mark is a third-party product certification scheme accredited by JAS-ANZ with the intention to mitigate product compliance risks.
 
The product certifications provided by UL-AU is based on the local Australian Standards AS 1530.4:2014 and AS 4072.1:2005.
 
Our Hilti firestop portfolio certified by UL-AU can be accessed through an independent portal maintained by UL called UL IQ. Here is the guide to access these certificates:

1. Go to the UL Solutions URL: https://iq.ulprospector.com/en/
• Users can register on the platform for free by creating a personal account.

2. Once registered and logged in, it is easy to find the UL-AU certified products list. Users can simply type “UL-AU Mark” in the search bar and a list of different systems under various categories will appear.
• This list will include not only fire stopping systems, but all products certified by UL Australia under different codes. To search for Hilti firestopping solutions, type “Hilti Australia” in the “Company Name” field.

3. The products will be divided into three different categories:
• Australian Certification Services - Fire Protection and Fire Resistance Products Firestopping - Fire Collars and Fire Cassettes
• Australian Certification Services – Fire Protection and Fire Resistance Products Firestopping – Intumescent Seals and Fire Pillows
• Australian Certification Services - Fire Protection and Fire Resistance Products - Firestopping - Non-Intumescent Seals and Mortars

4. By clicking in the “Document Name”, all Hilti Australia products certified under that category will be displayed. For example, by selecting the category “Fire Collars and Fire Cassettes”, the search will produce the results shown in the image below.

5. The certificates can be downloaded by clicking in the “Certificate Name” and then “View Certificate". The first page of the document contains the main information related to the product, such as name, manufacturer and sourcing plant, as well as expiry date, testing standard and the approval of the certification body (UL-AU, which is accredited by JAS-ANZ).


6. The following pages will show in detail the compliance of the product to Australian Standards, the product configurations and base materials considered, ending with the Fire Resistance Level results of each approved configuration

A UL certified product system gives you all information on all possible variations for a particular assembly. It is important for any specifier, or any personnel involved in firestop construction to know how to read firestop solution certificates and approvals so that they can ensure safety with an optimum solution to unique site conditions.
