COVID-19 Update

How Hilti is supporting you

COVID Update May 2020

We are here to support you and your business

Transparency is important to us in how we communicate with both our customers and partners. Following the worldwide spread of the coronavirus, we would like to inform you as to how we are handling the current situation. It goes without saying that our main priority is protecting the health of our employees and their families, as well as our customers and business partners.

As a result, we have issued preventive hygienic guidelines and taken precautionary measures at all our locations. All the measures we have taken follow the recommendations and guidelines of the responsible government and health authorities. We have established crisis management teams at the global level and locally here in Australia. This has prepared us well and given us the ability to quickly implement proactive measures and to rapidly react to new developments. We have contingency plans in place for our sites to assure continuity of supply and service delivery.

Hilti Australia can report on the following current situation regarding our supply of goods and services:

  1. From a Hilti production plant perspective, we are back to a normal supply situation and key suppliers confirm increasing capacities close to 100% for the upcoming weeks.
  2. The Global Supply Teams stay in task-force mode to work on mid & long-term supply gaps, currently all measures are in place to avoid bigger stockouts, investments into additional safety stocks have been taken selectively as required.
  3. Our current suppliers/plants are further improving/stabilising, in some areas normal operations have fully resumed. Our domestic Material Management team is continuously monitoring items supplied by our plants in Asia and we can confirm that there is no availability risk for any of our items now.
  4. Considering the current situation in Europe and Rest of the world, we will expand monitoring efforts for items sourced from these plants and warehouses as well.
  5. Our global supply sources are currently not affected by COVID-19, and you can use our products and services as normal.

The situation remains dynamic, and the Hilti Australia team will remain vigilant until all operations have returned to normal.

Safety first

Helping to keep crews healthy

Construction safety protocols are being rapidly updated everywhere to stop the spread of COVID-19. Key changes around the world range from strict new hygiene measures on jobsites to staggered shifts. Critically, physical distancing is now set to be a fact of life on building sites for some time to come.

To help keep workers healthy, Hilti has created a special tool cleaning guide with detailed instructions on how to disinfect your equipment without damaging it.
